FAQs

What is your experience and credentials?

I'm a fully licensed therapist in the state of IL. I've been a counselor for over 13 years and have worked with a variety of clients and presenting concerns. I've worked with children, teens and adults and have enjoyed all of these. I've gained experience working with people going through a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and more.

Can you see patients from any state?

No. I am only licensed in the state of Illinois. When we meet, you will need to be physically located in IL. When you travel outside of IL, you will have to notify me and resume sessions when you get back.

Do you have in-person sessions?

I am only meeting people via telehealth. I have found, both by personal experience and by meeting with clients, that telehealth can be equally effective and rewarding. If you're not sure whether or not telehealth is right for you, try it out with me. Let's meet for a short telehealth session for 15 minutes to test it out!

How much do sessions with you cost?

Initial 60-minute intake appointment: $250

60-minute session – $200

45-minute session - $180

How do I pay you?

You will be able to set up your profile and make payments through your patient portal at Headway.

Do you take insurance?

Yes! For Illinois, I am currently taking Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar, Cigna, BCBS of IL, BCBS of Massachusetts.

What if you are an out-of-network provider for my insurance?

If we are not 'In-Network', here's what to keep in mind.

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois and in Arkansas. My services qualify for reimbursement under insurance plans that offer outpatient mental health benefits.

An out-of-network provider is a provider who has NOT contracted with a specific plan or insurance company to provide services for that company. This means you will pay me directly and request reimbursement from your insurance company.

On average, my fees are in the acceptable range (UCR – “Usual” and “Customary”) for most insurance companies.

Like many therapists in the area, I can provide you with monthly invoices to file your claim, and I can assist you in completing claims forms.

Each company has different policies for reimbursement. I encourage you to find out what your plan offers before our initial meeting.

Below are some helpful questions to ask your insurance provider to determine your out-of-network benefits:

  • Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to see a mental health professional?
  • Do I need pre-approval from my insurance company before I can see a mental health professional?
  • What is my coverage for out-of-network providers?
  • What is my yearly maximum benefit (dollar amount or number of visits)?
  • Is there a deductible?
